The Journey of an ELCA Missionary in South Africa

Read my latest updates:

On September 13, 2014 I got on a plane to South Africa. I had no idea what my apartment would look like, how to drive a manual transmission, or what the job I signed up for was going to be like. All I knew was that I was called by God to be here.

With the support of ELCA congregations in the United States, the Global Mission staff in Chicago, IL, and a very helpful local representative, I made a temporary home here in South Africa.

Learn more about how you can support the entire global church in my “Support Global Mission” page.
Or just wander through my trail map of social media and content I love through my “Connect” page.

This is my church, and this is home.

I am so thankful for all that the ELCA has given me. There are divisions and problems in every church, but I am proud to be a part of one that works to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God in all their ministries.
